John has more than 20 years of experience in consulting, web and digital media, product development, data analysis, sales and marketing strategy, and process engineering. He has been engaged by companies in news, media, information management, financial services, telecom, pharma and industrials.
John is founder of BendingBrook, a marketing strategy consulting and creative agency that is engaged in product development and market launch, sales force effectiveness, brand strategy, corporate identity, web and multimedia promotions, and multi-channel marketing. Earlier, he was Executive Director at strategic marketing consulting firm MCA, responsible for product launch planning for pharmaceutical companies.
Previously, John was with American Express in the CIM (database consumer marketing group) and International Payments units. He repositioned the international payments business unit to medium-sized business customers, redirecting direct sales and direct marketing efforts to reduce new customer acquisition cost by 60%. He also implemented a customer-centric marketing approach that increased response rates at lower costs, and built CRM capabilities with new processes, organization, job definitions and training.
Earlier, John was Brand Strategy Consulting Director at Ogilvy, where he defined new brand consulting services including brand audit, repositioning, brand design, and organizational change management. He was also a Consultant with A.T. Kearney, where his work included global mobile phone companies and other traditional and wireless telecom providers.
John graduated from University College London with a B.S in Electrical Engineering (high honors) and has an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania.
